8 Upscale Restaurants in NYC for Your Next Date Night
Who says going out for dinner isn't self care! My husband and I love exploring new restaurants in the city for date night and here's just a few of our favorite spots!
GRAMERCY TAVERN – GRAMERCY
If you're planning to visit the iconic Gramercy Tavern, then it's a must to dine in their main dinning room. They offer an elegant five-course tasting menu that is unbelievable. My favorite was the Poached Lobster Lumache!
ONE IF BY LAND, TWO IF BY SEA - GREENWICH VILLAGE
This restaurant is known for their romantic ambience! Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, the restaurant is decorated with gorgeous chandeliers, elegant tall candlesticks, and a jazz pianist!
ABC KITCHEN & ABC COCINA - UNION SQUARE
We started our night with drinks at the bar at ABC Kitchen and then walked through the restaurant to get to our dinner reservations at ABC Cocina, an affiliate Jean-George restaurant. The Latin inspired farm to table menu featured an assortment of tapas and delicious sangrias! I recommend the charred octopus, spiced ground beef empanadas, crispy gulf flounder taco, and arroz con pollo. This was some of the best food we've ever had!!
RIVER CAFE - DUMBO
Where do I even begin with River Cafe! This restaurant is very special to us because it's where Anup and I celebrated my birthday/valentines day together in 2019. We were seated by the window, overlooking the city and the Brooklyn Bridge. In the background was a talented harpist playing the most romantic songs to elevate our dining experience. Our 5 course tasting menu included the most delicious caviar, scallops, lobster, steak, and chocolate mouse cake. It was a perfect night.
STK STEAKHOUSE - MIDTOWN
This restaurant, featured in the most recent season of The Sinner on Netflix, offers a modern upscale dining experience. I loved the unique architecture of the space — archways, black and white beams, high ceilings. Of course, their signature dish is their steaks!
BOUCHERIE PARK AVENUE – UNION SQUARE
Anup and I ventured into Boucherie for date night during restaurant week and have since been back several times. This chic French restaurant offers authentic French dishes including Rattatoullie Aux Merguez, Pate De Foie, and Beef Bourguinon. If you're looking to try some great French food, this is your place!
MAREA - UPTOWN
Our dining at Michelin Star restaurant Marea was truly a once in a lifetime experience. We were impressed by their impeccable service from synchronized plating to extensive knowledge of the menu to genuine enthusiasm to serve. We had the Ravioli Doppi and Bucatini for our mains and it did not disappoint!
