A Mindful Minute
In this exercise, you will practice your ability to be mindful. Mindfulness is a state of awareness in the present moment. It helps us to be alert, present, flexible, and at peace.
Set a time for one minute. Find a comfortable position, with your feet placed gently on the ground. Begin by taking a few slow deep breaths. When you are ready, use the prompts on the Mindful Minute worksheet to begin your mindfulness practice. Take note of how you are feeling right now, the things you see in your spaces, the things you can feel, the different sounds your hear, the various smells in the room, or something you can taste. Engage each of your sense to be fully mindful of the present moment. When you minute is over, slowly return to your breath and come back to the room.
