Our First Birthday/Valentine's Day as Mr. & Mrs.
Thank you for all the love and birthday wishes! This birthday/Valentine's day was extra special since it was our first since being married! The day started with roses, strawberries cut into the shape of hearts, and delicious chocolate croissants! Anup took the day off from work to spend the whole day together.
We took the train into the city and our first stop was the MET. We hadn't been back here since our engagement shoot in 2020. It was so fun re-visiting these iconic spots of the MET that were the backdrop of our love such as the Reflection Room and European Sculpture Room.
If you know me, you know how much I love art, photography, art history, and paintings, so there was nothing more perfect than spending my birthday surrounded by paintings from my favorite artists including Matisse, Renoir, Monet, and van Goh. There was also an amazing Inspiring Walt Disney exhibit that highlighted references to European culture in Disney animated films including Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. I highly recommend visiting this exhibit before it closes on March 6th! I may or may not have teared up walking through this exhibit, watching my childhood memories of Disney come to life.
Afterwards we took a stroll through cold Central Park and had lunch at the Loeb Boathouse! The setting was so romantic — overlooking the pond and listening to live jazz music.
For dessert, we went to Laduree for yummy macaroons and had almond milk cappuccinos at Ralph's at the corner of Madison at 72nd street.
We ended our night at Michelin star restruant Daniel where we enjoyed a four course meal consisting of Maine lobster, slow cooked sea scallops, bison crusted in black truffle, and Valentine's Day themed cocktails (YUMMM)! The night wasn't over yet! At home, we cut a cake, watched Beauty and the Beast, and drank "rose margaritas" as Anup called them. And that was it - our first birthday/Valentine's Day as Mr. & Mrs! Thank you to my sweet husband for making this day so special and fun! I love you.
Thanks so much for reading! How did you spend your Valentine's Day?
